ERM is hiring a Stakeholder & Consultation Manager- DCO, EIA, Planning

About the Role

Shape meaningful stakeholder engagement for large-scale infrastructure initiatives in sectors like renewable energy, mining, and transportation. As a Stakeholder & Consultation Manager, you'll lead end-to-end public consultation processes, ensuring projects meet regulatory standards while fostering trust with communities and decision-makers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and manage comprehensive stakeholder engagement programmes aligned with project timelines and consent requirements
  • Advise clients on effective consultation strategies, including stakeholder mapping, messaging, and regulatory best practices
  • Develop clear, accessible materials such as exhibition boards, summaries, and digital content that communicate complex project details
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including EIA specialists, planners, engineers, and legal advisors to ensure cohesive project delivery
  • Engage constructively with local authorities, government agencies, community groups, and the public to build transparency and trust
  • Support business development through proposal writing, client presentations, and targeted marketing initiatives

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven understanding of UK planning frameworks including DCO, TCPA, and Section 36 legislation
  • Experience managing stakeholder processes for infrastructure projects, with knowledge of EIA and consenting pathways
  • Strong project management abilities, with experience overseeing scopes, budgets, and deliverables
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for simplifying technical information
  • Comfort engaging with diverse audiences, from senior clients to community representatives
  • Experience delivering public consultations, workshops, exhibitions, and stakeholder meetings
  • Familiarity with Development Consent Order (DCO) applications is advantageous
