Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive test strategies for native iOS and Android mobile applications across multiple teams.
- Establish coverage plans for diverse device types and operating system versions, while minimizing test instability at scale using BrowserStack and GitLab CI.
- Ensure robust integration between backend services, APIs, contracts, and mobile client implementations.
- Manage quality checkpoints within application release and app store deployment pipelines, resolving cross-team quality issues.
- Collaborate with developers to enhance testability and integrate quality practices early in the development lifecycle.
- Guide and develop Senior Software Engineers in Test, fostering measurable technical growth and leadership.
- Lead knowledge transfer initiatives through technical presentations, workshops, shared documentation, and collaborative sessions; co-lead QA community efforts.
- Partner with the Senior Engineering Manager to define technical quality direction, with full autonomy within the domain, using data to guide improvements.
- Establish clear quality metrics and thresholds to communicate risk to product and engineering leadership in business-relevant terms.
- Determine strategic adoption of artificial intelligence in quality engineering, including tool selection and workflow integration.
- Create workflows leveraging AI for testing, while setting governance and data security standards across engineering teams.
- Evaluate and mitigate risks associated with AI in testing, especially when impacting production environments, beyond just efficiency gains.
- Coach engineering teams on ethical and efficient use of AI tools and track return on investment for AI in quality processes.

Team
Part of a domain-aligned engineering team focused on mobile quality and scalable test infrastructure
Responsibilities
- Design and own the test strategy across mobile teams for native iOS (Swift/SwiftUI) and Android (Kotlin) apps.
- Set strategy for device and OS-version fragmentation coverage and drive flakiness control at scale, running suites on BrowserStack with GitLab CI.
- Keep the backend/API/contract layer strong and connect it to the mobile client layer.
- Own quality gates inside app release and store-deployment pipelines, and drive resolution of quality issues that cross team boundaries within the domain.
- Pair on testability, shift quality ownership left into the dev workflow, and be the person teams seek out before implementation starts.
- Mentor Senior Software Engineers in Test, accelerating real, visible growth, and provide technical guidance across the domain.
- Run knowledge-sharing across QA and Dev: tech talks, workshops, reusable documentation, pair sessions; co-lead the OneTech/QA community.
- Co-shape the domain's technical quality direction with the SEM, with full autonomy within the domain, and analyze quality trends from reports/metrics to identify improvement areas.
- Define quality metrics and gates and use them to frame quality risk in business terms for EMs, SEMs, and PMs.
- Define the AI adoption approach for quality engineering in the domain - which tools, which workflows.
- Design AI-assisted testing workflows and set governance and data-security standards across teams.
- Assess and manage the risk of AI usage in testing (including production-facing work), not just the productivity upside.
- Mentor engineers on responsible, effective AI use and report on AI ROI for quality engineering.
