About the Role
Lead the development of scalable backend services and infrastructure that support AI-driven video processing and retrieval. Drive technical architecture decisions and mentor engineers while ensuring system reliability and performance.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend systems for large-scale video indexing and search
- Collaborate with machine learning teams to integrate AI models into production pipelines
- Optimize system performance and reliability under heavy data loads
- Define and enforce software engineering best practices across teams
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews and technical guidance
- Own end-to-end deployment and monitoring of critical services
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues quickly and efficiently
- Work closely with product teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Develop APIs that support internal and external developer needs
- Ensure data consistency and integrity across distributed systems
- Contribute to architectural planning for long-term scalability
- Evaluate and adopt new technologies that improve system capabilities
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for systems and workflows
- Participate in on-call rotations for production support
- Drive initiatives to improve code quality and testing coverage
- Support security and compliance requirements for data handling
- Improve observability and logging across backend services
- Collaborate on database schema design and query optimization
- Help define standards for microservices communication and resilience
