Responsibilities
- Lead large-scale database infrastructure projects such as upgrading PostgreSQL versions and modifying code to resolve compatibility issues
- Develop and manage replication and sharding architectures to support scalable database performance
- Provision and oversee developer-accessible databases with attention to performance and environment isolation
- Identify outdated software dependencies across services to drive technology stack modernization
- Take ownership of upgrading core frameworks, libraries, and SDKs across the platform
- Collaborate with product teams to align and implement necessary code changes during upgrades
- Design and maintain the architecture of continuous integration and delivery pipelines
- Enhance testing accuracy, deployment safety, and system monitoring within delivery workflows
- Ensure development environments and tooling scale effectively with growing team size and product complexity
- Write and review production-level Python code, particularly during system migrations or upgrades
- Work closely with product engineers to integrate platform improvements efficiently
- Guide engineering teams in establishing best practices for testing, deployment, and dependency control
- Act as a technical advisor for complex refactors and organization-wide engineering initiatives
