Okta is hiring a Staff Engineer, Identity & Access Management

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical liaison between internal teams, the internal adoption program, and product development groups, leading early testing of emerging capabilities and delivering detailed feedback to refine solutions prior to broad rollout.
  • Lead end-to-end design and implementation of identity policies, lifecycle management, adaptive multi-factor authentication, and federated protocols (SAML, OIDC) for enterprise-scale identity platforms.
  • Design and enforce identity and access management standards across cloud environments including AWS, GCP, and Azure, using API-driven automation to streamline complex operational workflows.
  • Provide expert-level technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams, acting as a review authority for identity architecture and establishing organization-wide best practices.
  • Advance operational efficiency through automation and collaborate with security, audit, and compliance functions to ensure identity systems meet regulatory standards such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, and FedRAMP.
  • Lead integration of secure AI practices by managing machine identities, AI agent access, and service-to-service authentication within the corporate identity framework.
