Role Overview
As a Staff Engineer in Container Security, you will pioneer the development of next-generation segmentation controls tailored for modern container platforms. Your work will focus on securing applications at the pod level, enabling organizations to detect and stop lateral movement within their container ecosystems using Zero Trust principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement a novel orchestration framework for fine-grained security policy enforcement across containerized workloads
- Deepen integration with platforms such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, Istio, and managed services including EKS, AKS, and GKE
- Lead the architecture and delivery of core subsystems, ensuring designs are rigorously reviewed and technically sound
- Develop robust, maintainable code that balances simplicity with scalability and long-term supportability
- Guide junior engineers and early-career talent through hands-on mentorship and technical leadership
- Partner with customer-facing teams and strategic clients to inform product direction based on real-world operational challenges
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in building large-scale, distributed software systems
- Strong programming skills in at least one of: Go, Python, or Java
- Proven understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system-level debugging
- Hands-on experience with container orchestration technologies, especially Kubernetes
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments and TCP/IP networking fundamentals
- Solid grasp of networking concepts and secure system design
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Prior work in network security, access controls, or identity-based security models
Technology Environment
You'll operate across a modern stack including Kubernetes, service mesh technologies like Istio, cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, and Azure, and programming languages including Go and Python. The environment spans low-level system interactions and high-level distributed application logic.
Culture and Impact
The team values autonomy, deep technical ownership, and continuous innovation. You’ll contribute to a culture that prioritizes diversity, inclusion, and belonging, working alongside leaders who encourage independent thinking and bold solutions. This role offers direct influence on the trajectory of cybersecurity in cloud-native environments.
