Responsibilities
- Create detailed plans for integrating, verifying, and testing electro-optical payload systems.
- Design, build, and manage optical and sensor testing environments.
- Conduct testing of imaging payloads and assist production teams with satellite integration.
- Collaborate with engineering, program management, and manufacturing to validate payload performance across all stages.
- Specify and supervise the creation of ground support equipment and test infrastructure for payloads.
- Contribute to the design and evaluation of new electro-optical payload concepts and system architectures.
- Model and assess new sensor technologies, designs, and imaging phenomena to guide research and development.
- Establish optical performance requirements for emerging payload designs.
- Guide procurement and integration of payload components with technical oversight.
- Assist in calibrating and commissioning imaging systems once in orbit.
- Analyze in-orbit performance data, compare it with pre-launch predictions, and refine testing and modeling methods.
- Perform additional duties related to electro-optical payload engineering as required.
