You will play a key role in shaping pricing solutions for hosts by working alongside data scientists, engineers, product managers, and designers. Your work will focus on designing and refining pricing guidance systems, using advanced modeling and empirical analysis to inform how hosts set prices in a dynamic marketplace.
What You'll Do
- Partner with product and technical teams to develop and validate pricing strategies that align supply and demand, translating modeling outputs into practical recommendations.
- Design and implement statistical models and experimental frameworks to evaluate the real-world impact of pricing features, using both A/B testing and observational methods.
- Analyze host behavior and engagement patterns to understand how pricing tools are used and how they can be improved over time.
- Build prototypes and simulations using Python, SQL, and R to test new ideas and support data-informed decision-making.
- Translate complex findings into clear, compelling narratives for stakeholders, helping guide long-term strategy in pricing science.
- Collaborate across disciplines to ensure data insights are integrated into product development, with a strong focus on user experience and marketplace health.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Econometrics, or a related quantitative field.
- At least 9 years of industry experience with a Master’s degree, or 6 years with a PhD.
- Proven experience in causal inference, experimentation, and marketplace or pricing systems.
- Strong programming skills in SQL and one of Python or R.
- Ability to independently drive research initiatives and develop proof-of-concept models.
- Excellent communication skills, with experience influencing cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary range: $194,000—$240,000 USD. Eligible for equity, annual bonus, and employee travel credits. Comprehensive benefits package included. The role supports remote work within the U.S., excluding Alaska, Mississippi, and North Dakota, with occasional in-person meetings as needed.
