About the Role
You will play a pivotal role in shaping the data foundation of a high-growth, venture-backed fintech company, driving the evolution from transactional systems to intelligent, automated operations while growing alongside the organization.
Responsibilities
- Design and lead the development of the data platform, defining the strategy for data warehousing and lakehouse architecture, and implementing a layered data model that transforms raw operational data into reliable, accessible, and intelligence-ready assets.
- Develop and manage both batch and real-time data pipelines to extract, load, and transform data from production systems using change data capture, ELT processes, and streaming technologies where necessary.
- Define and maintain core data models and canonical datasets used across the organization, ensuring consistency in grain, meaning, and data contracts.
- Ensure data accuracy and system reliability, especially critical for financial data, by implementing data quality controls, monitoring, observability, integrity validation, and testing frameworks.
- Design systems with compliance in mind, incorporating role-based access controls, data masking, audit trails, and data lineage from the start to protect sensitive financial information.
- Support artificial intelligence and machine learning initiatives by building robust feature pipelines and providing a trusted, well-structured data foundation that enables intelligent automation and decision-making.
- Establish foundational data engineering practices, tooling, and CI/CD pipelines that future team members will build upon, setting high standards for maintainability and scalability.
