As a Staff Cloud Security Engineer, you'll work hand-in-hand with engineering and architecture teams to integrate robust security practices across cloud infrastructure and development pipelines. Your expertise will ensure secure-by-design principles are embedded from the start, supporting a culture of proactive risk management and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do
- Guide engineering teams in building secure, scalable systems using cloud-native technologies and Infrastructure as Code
- Design and implement security controls that align with compliance, audit, and operational requirements
- Investigate emerging threats and vulnerabilities to strengthen defenses across cloud environments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile setting to embed security into CI/CD workflows and cloud operations
What We’re Looking For
- Hands-on experience with AWS and its security ecosystem, including IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, CloudTrail, and GuardDuty
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools such as AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform
- Strong grasp of networking fundamentals like TCP/IP, TLS, and VPNs
- Experience securing containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes on AWS EKS
- Familiarity with GitLab, GitLab CI, and Jira for development and tracking workflows
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset with a focus on enabling engineering teams
Nice to Have
- AWS Certified Security – Specialty or equivalent certification
- Background in GitOps, Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM), Kubernetes Security Posture Management (KSPM), admission control, and software supply chain security
