Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise field survey crews on project sites
- Conduct precise land surveying using total stations, GPS, and other instrumentation
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company standards
- Perform boundary, topographic, and construction layout surveys
- Verify accuracy of field measurements and data
- Prepare and maintain field notes and survey records
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers
- Troubleshoot technical issues with survey equipment
- Train junior crew members on proper survey methods
- Manage survey data for transfer to office teams
- Adhere to project schedules and field timelines
- Conduct field reconnaissance to plan survey routes
- Perform elevation and grade verification
- Support quality control checks on collected data
- Use field-to-office software for data integration
- Maintain survey equipment and calibration logs
- Work in diverse terrain and weather conditions
- Follow federal, state, and local surveying regulations
- Assist in developing project work plans
- Ensure proper documentation of control points
- Coordinate access with property owners or agencies
- Support as-built and stakeout activities
- Participate in pre-project planning meetings
- Report field progress and challenges to supervisors
- Uphold professional conduct in client interactions
