As the Sr. Manager, PPMO, you will lead a growing team of project managers and shape the future of project execution across a dynamic organization focused on advancing care for organ transplant patients. Reporting to the Head of Project and Portfolio Management, you will align delivery with corporate strategy, ensuring that complex initiatives in product development, scale-up, and technology integration move forward efficiently and with accountability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor project managers, fostering professional growth and building a strong, capable team
- Collaborate with department leaders and financial planning to forecast staffing needs and allocate resources effectively
- Drive large-scale transformations, including procurement rollouts and system migrations, across multiple functions
- Translate performance data into clear insights, enabling leadership to make informed decisions and overcome operational hurdles
- Design and implement a scalable project management framework to manage interdependencies and support long-term growth
- Identify risks early and develop proactive mitigation strategies to protect program timelines and outcomes
- Work closely with project leads to accelerate progress toward critical business goals
- Lead structured, high-impact meetings with clear agendas and follow-up governance
- Ensure design control documentation is complete, compliant, and technically sound
- Track project performance using data-driven metrics and deliver measurable returns on investment
- Lead phase gate and design reviews to confirm readiness and adherence to quality standards
- Improve governance processes by refining meeting rhythms, agendas, and action tracking
- Prepare concise, executive-level summaries and presentations for senior stakeholders
- Act as the central point of coordination across departments, ensuring alignment on scope, budget, and timelines
- Manage relationships with internal teams, external partners, vendors, and collaborators
Qualifications
Candidates should hold a bachelor’s or advanced degree in life sciences or a technical field and bring 7–10 years of experience in diagnostics, medical devices, or biotech. A solid grasp of design controls and product development lifecycles is essential, as is experience working in regulated environments such as FDA, CLIA, ISO 13485, or CE/IVDR. Proficiency with Gantt charts, dashboards, and project management tools is required. You should be skilled at influencing stakeholders without direct authority and capable of navigating complex organizational dynamics.
Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and leadership abilities are critical. Experience managing programs in a matrixed organization and adapting quickly to change is expected. Strategic thinking and the ability to convert insights into actionable plans are key to success in this role. PMP certification and experience in software, digital health, or global markets are a plus.
