About the Role
This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental health and safety initiatives across the organization. The individual will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, conduct audits, lead incident investigations, and support continuous improvement in safety performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of environmental, health, and safety policies
- Conduct regular site inspections and compliance audits
- Investigate workplace incidents and recommend corrective actions
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards
- Prepare regulatory reports and ensure timely submissions
- Support facility teams on hazardous materials management
- Track and analyze safety metrics to identify trends and risks
- Deliver safety training programs to employees and managers
- Manage emergency preparedness and response planning
- Coordinate with external agencies during inspections or inquiries
- Oversee contractor safety compliance
- Maintain environmental permits and documentation
- Implement sustainability initiatives related to waste and emissions
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous waste
- Promote a culture of safety through engagement and communication
- Assist in risk assessments for new and existing operations
- Manage recordkeeping systems for incidents and exposures
- Support workers' compensation claims prevention efforts
- Evaluate safety equipment and recommend improvements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project safety plans
