KLA is looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer with a focus on embedded systems to join its Broadband Plasma Division. In this role, you will design, implement, and debug Linux firmware for embedded sensing and communication systems, with end-to-end ownership of projects from concept to field deployment.
What You'll Do
- Design, implement, and debug Linux firmware for embedded sensing and communications systems (cameras, sensors, etc.).
- Gain expertise in KLA products by developing features across areas like power electronics, signal processing, and platform communication.
- Design and develop system architecture, focusing on hardware interfaces, sensing components, communication protocols, and software/hardware connectivity.
- Take end-to-end ownership of a project or product: from concept and simulation through development, integration, and field deployment.
- Perform bring-up of new hardware, working with datasheets for device configuration.
What We're Looking For
- Strong capabilities in solving firmware issues using lab instruments and in hardware/software integration.
- Proficiency with Linux internals, networking, and Embedded Linux build systems.
- Proficiency in programming in C and C++ in an embedded environment.
- Experience in low-level programming, including BSP coding and driver development.
- Experience in the design and development processes of multi-disciplinary products integrating software and electronics (ability to read and understand schematics).
- Familiarity with modern DevOps stack and standards (git, SVN, testing automation).
- Knowledge of various protocols to interface different peripherals: I2C, SPI, PCIe.
- Knowledge of Python.
- Equivalent of a Doctorate (Academic) Degree and 3 years of related work experience; a Master's Level Degree and 6 years of related work experience; or a Bachelor's Level Degree and 8 years of related work experience.
