Position Overview A financial institution in Dallas, TX is seeking a Senior Credit Analyst to lead detailed evaluations of commercial loan applications. This role is central to assessing borrower creditworthiness, identifying financial and industry risks, and delivering well-supported recommendations for lending decisions. The analyst will work closely with loan officers and committees, ensuring all documentation meets regulatory standards and internal policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive financial reviews for new, renewing, and extended commercial loans, focusing on complex credit profiles.
- Examine financial trends, profitability, management strength, market position, and collateral value to determine risk exposure.
- Develop and deliver clear, data-driven credit presentations for review by lending committees.
- Collaborate with lending staff to assess proposal viability and recommend appropriate loan structures.
- Assign risk ratings to both new and existing loans based on current performance and outlook.
- Build financial models, including projections and stress testing under various economic scenarios.
- Present findings directly to the loan committee and participate in approval deliberations.
- Conduct periodic audits of commercial loan files to verify documentation accuracy and identify credit exceptions.
- Track and monitor outstanding loan exceptions and follow up on resolution timelines.
- Maintain a current list of loans approved for funding and coordinate with relevant teams for disbursement.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of experience in credit analysis, preferably within a banking or financial services setting.
- Proven ability to develop and deliver thorough credit memoranda and presentations.
- Solid understanding of lending regulations, compliance standards, and banking operations.
- Strong capability in interpreting balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Proficiency with spreadsheet and word processing tools in a digital workflow environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related discipline.
- Additional training or certification in financial analysis is a plus.
Compensation & Work Environment
This position offers a competitive salary of up to $95,000 and includes a comprehensive benefits package. The role is onsite in Dallas, TX, with no remote option. Candidates must be prepared to work full-time at the designated location.
