Support the development of a resilient and highly available database architecture
Contribute to technical planning, including enhancing data retrieval efficiency for a web-based application using SQL features to minimize response time and boost performance
Build and manage database components such as tables, indexes, partitioning schemes, keys, constraints, and storage configurations
Develop methods to copy production databases from denormalized to normalized formats
Assist in organizing database schemas and file layouts
Establish and manage user roles and access controls for database resources
Design and implement a statistics gathering strategy tailored to query patterns and data volume, including scheduling and histogram settings
Collaborate on backup strategy reviews and propose timing adjustments to prevent interference with live applications
Analyze execution plans for key application queries to identify inefficiencies
Support code validation during application rollouts or database updates to prevent performance degradation
Manage large-scale data import operations
Aid in refining infrastructure design by detecting performance bottlenecks and enhancing system responsiveness and reliability
Build SQL Server Integration Services packages to transform and load data from legacy platforms into a relational database

Proven experience in database development using SQL Server Management Studio, including schema modeling and object creation
Demonstrated background writing stored procedures, functions, and triggers
Experience translating business needs into technical database solutions, incorporating information and system architecture
Strong expertise in SQL, including configuration and mapping logic between legacy and modern database systems
Advanced skills in SQL with emphasis on data modeling and version control integration
Familiarity with SQL Server database project workflows across environments and version control practices
Hands-on experience as a MS-SQL DBA, including design and version-controlled deployment of database objects
Experience using SQL Server Integration Services for ETL processes, including multi-stage workflows and performance-tuned drivers
Background as a database architect shaping system designs from business and technical requirements
Skilled in writing, managing, and optimizing complex stored procedures and SQL queries
Experience designing and managing indexing strategies for performance
Proficiency with version control systems for tracking database changes, with preference for TFS
Experience monitoring database jobs and replication processes
