AECOM is hiring a Solar Lead

Responsibilities

  • Oversee solar EPC contractors and delivery partners at the programme level.
  • Track contractor adherence to contractual obligations including scope, timeline, quality, commissioning, and ESG standards.
  • Assist in governance procedures, executive-level reporting, and escalation protocols for solar package execution.
  • Ensure project delivery stays in line with programme goals, key milestones, and client expectations.
  • Evaluate significant engineering, design, construction, commissioning, and operational issues raised by field teams.
  • Offer technical advice and solutions for complex project challenges and interface coordination.
  • Support assessment of technical risks, design modifications, and corrective action strategies.
  • Lead resolution of high-impact issues affecting project progress and outcomes.
  • Coordinate interfaces between solar installations, grid connections, battery energy storage systems, shared infrastructure, and PMO functions.
  • Ensure integration efforts are accurately reflected in programme timelines and delivery roadmaps.
  • Identify interface-related risks and propose mitigation approaches to reduce programme disruption.
  • Support synchronized planning and readiness assessments across linked project components.
  • Evaluate preparedness for construction closeout, commissioning, energization, performance validation, and handover.
  • Analyze contractor recovery strategies, acceleration options, and milestone achievement plans.
  • Advise on opportunities to enhance schedule performance and optimize delivery.
  • Support client decisions with objective evaluations of project status and readiness.
  • Review package-specific risks, exceptions, and critical decisions prior to executive escalation.
  • Maintain awareness of key project risks, opportunities, and risk reduction actions.
  • Support client technical evaluations covering plant completion, operational preparedness, performance testing, and handover to operations.
  • Develop executive recommendations to inform strategic programme and funding decisions.
  • Serve as the main PMO contact for solar package governance and issue escalation.
  • Collaborate with project controls, engineering, construction, commissioning, environmental, and commercial specialists.
  • Engage with clients, contractors, consultants, and programme leadership to resolve issues and align strategy.
  • Present findings, recommendations, and governance updates to senior leaders and client representatives.
