DISCO is hiring a Software Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

  • Define and monitor OKRs in partnership with product and design teams to support strategic objectives, balancing new feature delivery with technical debt reduction and system stability within an Agile framework.
  • Provide technical guidance by reviewing architecture and design decisions, and contribute directly to development when needed to ensure team success.
  • Coach and develop engineers at all levels through consistent one-on-one meetings, career planning, and constructive feedback to build ownership and technical mastery.
  • Collaborate closely with product and design counterparts to assess technical feasibility, uphold quality standards, and deliver meaningful product outcomes.
  • Establish and promote engineering standards across teams to ensure uniformity in code quality, performance, and system reliability.
  • Track and improve engineering health metrics such as service level objectives, error rates, cycle time, and operational costs to enhance system performance and process efficiency.
  • Lead incident response efforts and oversee on-call procedures, including conducting post-mortem analyses to implement lasting solutions for recurring problems.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives in development workflows, testing strategies, CI/CD pipelines, and overall engineering productivity.
