Responsibilities
- Lead the creation and deployment of foundational services, pipelines, and package indexing systems that enable secure, repeatable workflows for building, testing, and distributing libraries across multiple programming ecosystems such as Java, JavaScript, and Python with emphasis on AI/ML.
- Design and manage automated processes for generating, updating, and validating software artifacts, incorporating vulnerability detection, patching workflows, SBOM production, provenance data, and policy compliance across a broad library catalog.
- Advance research and implementation toward automated patch generation techniques.
- Create and verify systems that produce security corrections algorithmically, including AI-supported methods, with rigorous testing to ensure correctness beyond simple upstream patch application.
- Construct and maintain shared infrastructure services like package repositories, registry proxies, metadata systems, and orchestration tools used by both internal teams and external clients.
- Build internal development utilities and command-line interfaces—primarily in Go—to enhance large-scale library development, testing, and release processes, including integration with diverse build systems and CI/CD pipelines.
- Ensure platform dependability, growth capacity, and system visibility by defining service-level objectives, implementing monitoring solutions, managing alerts, and leading incident resolution and follow-up improvements.
- Diagnose and resolve intricate dependency and compilation challenges in live environments, ranging from toolchain inconsistencies to unreliable pipelines and edge cases in package registries.
- Collaborate closely with language-specific teams and cross-functional groups—including Platform, Delivery, Sustaining Engineering, and Security—to align the system with operational, security, and product standards.
- Support engineering peers through technical guidance, code reviews, documentation, and direct troubleshooting to strengthen team practices around platform development and operations.
