eBay is looking for a Software Engineer to join our Shipping team and build the next generation of shipping platforms at massive scale. You will be a key hands-on contributor, designing, building, and operating highly scalable, resilient services that millions of buyers and sellers rely on every day.
What You'll Do
- Drive the development of high-performance backend systems, ensuring reliability and integration into eBay’s Shipping platform.
- Lead initiatives that advance shipping architectural vision and improve transaction efficiency to increase user satisfaction and throughput.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to introduce innovative payment features that expand eBay’s offerings.
- Mentor and support engineering peers in adopting best technical practices and fostering a collaborative environment.
- Evaluate and implement emerging technologies to boost performance and facilitate interoperability with a global carrier network.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience with advanced technical projects.
- 6+ years of software development experience on large-scale, high-volume systems in a microservice architecture for the cloud.
- Proven ability in architecting and scaling backend systems to accommodate substantial user and transaction growth.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python, alongside knowledge of cloud computing and microservices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Experience managing tasks with agile methodology and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
