Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance software for Cisco’s collaboration platforms, including meeting systems and team communication tools.
- Partner with senior engineers to create scalable and resilient solutions for embedded and networked devices.
- Diagnose and resolve software defects and performance bottlenecks to maintain system reliability.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to uphold high standards of software quality.
- Support CI/CD pipelines by writing and maintaining automation tests.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and adopt industry best practices in development workflows.
- Contribute to technical mentoring, including guiding interns and less experienced peers.
- Stay current with emerging technologies relevant to device software and communication systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of software development experience, or Master’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience.
- Background in embedded systems or network device software development.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities in a collaborative team setting.
- Effective communication skills for engaging with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and test automation frameworks.
Work Environment
This role operates under a hybrid model, available to candidates in the U.S. and Canada, combining in-person collaboration with remote work flexibility. The position supports a globally distributed team focused on innovation in digital workspaces.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary ranges from $126,500 to $252,000, depending on location and experience level. The New York City metro area offers a range of $152,500 to $252,000; non-metro areas in New York and Washington state offer $135,800 to $224,400. Additional compensation includes annual bonuses for non-sales roles and uncapped performance incentives for sales-eligible positions. Employees may receive grants of restricted stock units.
