Role Overview
As a Software Diagnostics & Support Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining the health and performance of our software ecosystem. Your primary focus will be identifying, diagnosing, and resolving technical issues across applications, APIs, and data integrations. You'll combine deep technical analysis with clear communication to ensure problems are understood, documented, and resolved efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and replicate reported software defects and system incidents using logs, monitoring tools, and data analysis
- Diagnose issues by examining API traffic, SQL queries, and application behavior, often using tools like Postman
- Monitor service performance and reliability through dashboards and alerting systems
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to identify root causes and recommend technical improvements
- Contribute code fixes to existing systems when appropriate, focusing on stability and correctness
- Serve as the main technical contact for external partners and stakeholders during incident resolution
- Document complex technical problems clearly and concisely for internal and external use
Qualifications
- Degree in Information Technology or equivalent practical experience
- Familiarity with programming concepts and technical debugging
- Hands-on experience with monitoring and logging platforms such as Datadog, Splunk, or Sentry
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerShell, and SQL for data manipulation and analysis
- Strong understanding of HTTP and JSON-based API interactions
- Fluent English communication skills; working knowledge of Dutch and French is an advantage
- Ability to break down complex technical issues into clear, actionable insights
- Independent problem solver who thrives in collaborative environments
- Available to work on-site in Leuven at least two days per week
Work Environment
