Tandems is hiring a Software Development Engineer in Test

About the Role

As a Software Development Engineer in Test, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our AI-driven platform. Working side by side with engineering and product teams, you'll design, implement, and maintain automated test solutions across user interfaces and application programming interfaces, helping to catch issues early and improve overall product quality.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with development and product partners to proactively identify edge cases and weaknesses in new features and systems
  • Build and sustain automated test suites for end-to-end UI flows and API layers
  • Run test executions, analyze results, and report on defects, risks, and overall product health
  • Support continuous integration and delivery by monitoring Jenkins pipelines and suggesting optimizations
  • Advocate for quality at every stage of the software development lifecycle
  • Guide teams in defining measurable quality goals and effective testing strategies
  • Share knowledge with engineers and product specialists to strengthen testing practices across teams

What We’re Looking For

  • BTech/BE or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience with test automation tools such as Cypress, Selenium, TestCafe, Protractor, or Appium
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like JavaScript, Python, TypeScript, Ruby, or object-oriented languages like Java
  • Experience testing APIs using tools like REST Assured, Axios, SoapUI, or similar
  • Firm grasp of QA methodologies and the software development lifecycle
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly convey technical findings
  • Experience mentoring team members and promoting a learning-focused environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving, globally distributed setting
  • Familiarity with security, compliance, and performance standards in financial technology environments

Work Environment

This is a remote-first role with team members across the United States, Canada, India, and Singapore. Regional hubs are available for those who prefer in-person collaboration. The company supports flexible work hours and a sustainable pace.
