About the Role

Shape the future of cloud-native networking by leading the architecture of a critical platform that integrates advanced traffic management and security capabilities with Kubernetes. This role is central to defining how AI-powered applications are deployed, scaled, and protected in modern infrastructure environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and evolve the long-term technical roadmap for the platform, ensuring alignment with strategic goals in performance, security, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to guide architectural decisions, ensuring robustness across distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native patterns.
  • Lead architectural reviews, threat modeling, and design validation processes to proactively address operational and security challenges.
  • Inform product planning by evaluating emerging technologies, competitive offerings, and industry trends, particularly in AI and accelerated computing.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, fostering deep expertise in networking, observability, and orchestration.
  • Work closely with leadership to align technical execution with business timelines and strategic priorities.

Required Expertise

  • Deep understanding of L2–L7 protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, TLS, gRPC, and BGP, along with modern web application architectures.
  • Proven experience designing systems for cloud-native and AI workloads, with strong knowledge of microservices, distributed computing, and Kubernetes.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex technical projects efficiently.
  • Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal, with experience influencing cross-functional teams.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree, 10 years with a Master’s, or 8 with a PhD—equivalent experience considered.

Preferred Background

  • Familiarity with hardware acceleration technologies such as DPUs and GPUs.
  • Track record of leading end-to-end product development cycles from concept to production.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Linux and Unix-like operating systems.

Technical Environment

Work across a modern stack including Kubernetes, BIGIP, distributed systems, microservices, and core networking protocols. The platform supports mission-critical applications requiring high availability, security, and real-time performance.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary in the range of $234,400 – $351,600
  • Restricted stock units and incentive compensation including bonus
