Responsibilities
- Help resolve requests from or issues raised where Site Reliability Engineering assistance is needed
- Monitor the production infrastructure using tools such as Datadog, PagerDuty, and CloudWatch Logs and help identify opportunities to improve scalability and efficiency
- Help maintain the production infrastructure, performing tasks such as updating AMIs and installing the latest security patches on a regular basis
- Perform regularly scheduled production changes such as service updates
- Help the Security Operations team to ensure that we are meeting compliance requirements (i.e. ensuring that endpoint security is deployed, etc.)
- Assist other members of the SRE team on planned project work
- Following extensive onboarding, participate in the on-call rotation as a level 1 responder and participate in incident response
- Creating and updating runbooks for repetitive tasks
- Complete any additional tasks as they arise
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience and/or certification
- 2+ years of relevant working experience in software engineering, site reliability engineering, and/or IT systems administration
- Entry to mid-level programming skills in at least one programming language, preferably Python
- Entry to mid-level knowledge and experience with AWS services
- Entry to mid-level knowledge and experience with infrastructure-as-code platforms, preferably Terraform
- Entry to mid-level knowledge and experience working with Linux operating systems (Ubuntu, Amazon Linux) and applications (i.e. NGINX, Cassandra)
