About the Role
This position involves delivering civil design solutions for land development, transportation, and public works projects, ensuring technical accuracy and adherence to client requirements and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop civil site plans for commercial, residential, and public sector developments
- Perform stormwater management and drainage design using industry-standard software
- Conduct site grading and earthwork analysis to support construction feasibility
- Prepare engineering calculations for utilities, roads, and pavement systems
- Ensure designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations
- Collaborate with surveyors, architects, and environmental specialists
- Review construction drawings and provide technical feedback
- Support project lifecycle from concept through construction documentation
- Participate in field observations and construction oversight activities
- Coordinate with municipalities to secure necessary permits
- Utilize CAD and civil engineering software for design development
- Produce detailed construction specifications and cost estimates
- Manage multiple projects with varying deadlines and scopes
- Maintain quality control in design deliverables
- Respond to client inquiries and revise designs based on feedback
- Assist in the development of sustainable infrastructure solutions
- Evaluate existing site conditions and recommend improvements
- Support project managers in scheduling and resource planning
- Prepare reports documenting design rationale and compliance
- Stay current with engineering codes, standards, and best practices
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree in engineering or related field
- PE license in multiple states
- Experience with transportation or municipal infrastructure projects
- Proficiency in GIS applications for engineering analysis
- Project delivery experience using design-build or CMAR methods
- Involvement in LEED or sustainable design initiatives
- Prior work with federal or state government agencies
- Knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
- Experience with construction administration
- Familiarity with BIM workflows
