About the Role

This position involves delivering civil design solutions for land development, transportation, and public works projects, ensuring technical accuracy and adherence to client requirements and industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop civil site plans for commercial, residential, and public sector developments
  • Perform stormwater management and drainage design using industry-standard software
  • Conduct site grading and earthwork analysis to support construction feasibility
  • Prepare engineering calculations for utilities, roads, and pavement systems
  • Ensure designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Collaborate with surveyors, architects, and environmental specialists
  • Review construction drawings and provide technical feedback
  • Support project lifecycle from concept through construction documentation
  • Participate in field observations and construction oversight activities
  • Coordinate with municipalities to secure necessary permits
  • Utilize CAD and civil engineering software for design development
  • Produce detailed construction specifications and cost estimates
  • Manage multiple projects with varying deadlines and scopes
  • Maintain quality control in design deliverables
  • Respond to client inquiries and revise designs based on feedback
  • Assist in the development of sustainable infrastructure solutions
  • Evaluate existing site conditions and recommend improvements
  • Support project managers in scheduling and resource planning
  • Prepare reports documenting design rationale and compliance
  • Stay current with engineering codes, standards, and best practices

Nice to Have

  • Master’s degree in engineering or related field
  • PE license in multiple states
  • Experience with transportation or municipal infrastructure projects
  • Proficiency in GIS applications for engineering analysis
  • Project delivery experience using design-build or CMAR methods
  • Involvement in LEED or sustainable design initiatives
  • Prior work with federal or state government agencies
  • Knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
  • Experience with construction administration
  • Familiarity with BIM workflows
