Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of shop floor operations, establishing standards for quality and pace that meet or exceed client expectations.
- Ensure all production activities occur under controlled conditions and consistently improve processes for better quality and output.
- Interpret technical drawings thoroughly to identify scope changes early and manage updated shop drawings proactively.
- Direct staff in material bundling, staging, and final shipment coordination with transportation partners.
- Accurately track and assign labor hours and timecard data to maintain cost control.
- Collaborate with VDC and detailing teams to ensure smooth handoff and execution of work packages.
- Work closely with project managers, field teams, schedulers, and order processors to deliver projects on schedule and with high quality.
- Develop team members through performance feedback, growth planning, and practical equipment instruction.
- Support leadership in hiring decisions, employee evaluations, and personnel actions including terminations.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and daily toolbox talks that engage participants and reinforce safe practices.
- Collaborate with safety specialists to uphold clean, organized, and compliant shop and yard environments.
- Reduce equipment maintenance expenses by promoting proper usage and delivering effective training programs.
