Responsibilities
- Receives direction from supervisors when help is needed or new assignments are given
- Exercises a moderate degree of independent judgment in organizing and sequencing tasks
- Completes work by adhering to defined policies and standard operating procedures
- Performs hands-on and administrative tasks involved in shipping and receiving materials, supplies, equipment, and finished goods, using internal transport or third-party LTL carriers
- Keeps required records and documentation up to date
- May assist in planning outbound loads to align with delivery timelines and cost targets
- Conducts checks of items against shipping paperwork and approvals
- Packages items for transit based on specifications, equipment type, and shipping method
- Confirms product identity and quality before shipment
- Creates and prepares bills of lading
- Records weight and shipping costs in the system
- Marks containers with labels, stamps, or stencils containing shipping details
- Loads freight onto delivery vehicles
- Tracks inventory levels of packaging supplies such as boxes, tape, crates, clamps, and foam
- Accepts deliveries of raw materials, parts, or equipment and unloads them using forklifts and pallet jacks
- Reviews incoming shipments against bills of lading and packing lists to confirm item names, IDs, and quantities
- Logs records of received items and any damaged goods
