Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) is hiring a Shift Remote Hands Engineer (Data Centre)

The Shift Remote Hands Engineer plays a key role in maintaining the operational integrity of a data center in Johor Bahru. This position involves direct, hands-on support for client infrastructure, responding to service tickets, and executing technical tasks with precision and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and process incoming service requests through ticketing systems or email, ensuring timely responses aligned with SLA requirements
  • Deliver technical assistance to clients via phone or written communication, providing clear updates on task progress
  • Conduct hardware diagnostics and repairs, including component replacements such as hard drives and memory modules
  • Install server racks and mount equipment securely according to technical specifications
  • Perform copper and fiber cable patching, cross connects, testing, and labeling as part of routine and project-based work
  • Support security operations including CCTV monitoring and scheduled tape rotations
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory, cross connects, and system changes
  • Collaborate with vendors to resolve technical issues and oversee equipment installation
  • Escalate complex issues to specialists when necessary and coordinate handovers between shifts
  • Conduct basic network troubleshooting and assist with equipment logistics, including receiving and dispatching hardware
  • Generate monthly reports for clients and internal stakeholders
  • Support project teams as needed on infrastructure deployments and upgrades

Qualifications

Applicants should hold a Diploma or Degree in an IT-related field, with at least three years of professional experience, including a minimum of one year in a data center, NOC, or remote hands environment. Experience in client interaction, both verbal and written, is essential. Candidates must demonstrate analytical thinking, strong English communication skills, physical fitness, and a proactive attitude toward learning. This role requires adaptability in a fast-paced setting and a commitment to operational excellence.

Preference will be given to those with prior data center experience. The position operates on a 12-hour rotating shift schedule and is based onsite in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
