University of Toronto was looking for a Sessional Lecturer

The University of Toronto invites applications for a Sessional Lecturer to teach HAD5761H - Introduction to eHealth: Informatics, Innovations and Information Systems within the Master of Health Administration program. This course provides students with a foundational understanding of Information Systems theory, focusing on the development and management of systems for information handling and decision support.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as course instructor for a professional graduate course utilizing competency-based learning and assessment.
  • Take responsibility for course design and the assessment of student outcomes.
  • Be accessible to students outside of scheduled classroom hours.

What We're Looking For

  • A minimum of a Master’s level education.
  • Proven experience teaching case-based informatics at the graduate level.
  • Broad knowledge of health informatics in the healthcare industry, including international settings.
  • A record of publications in relevant academic or professional journals.
  • Executive-level experience in both healthcare provider and vendor environments.
  • Leadership experience in major healthcare informatics and information systems implementations.
  • Demonstrated ability to relate to mature students and facilitate group learning processes.
  • Comfort with electronic teaching tools including Learning Management Systems (e.g., Blackboard), PowerPoint, and online collaboration tools such as blogs, wikis, discussion boards, webinars, or video-conferencing.
  • Availability to teach during evenings and weekends.

Team & Environment

The estimated course enrolment is 42 students. The role does not include Teaching Assistant support.

  • Sessional Lecturer I: $9,820.70
  • Sessional Lecturer I - Long Term: $10,510.04
  • Sessional Lecturer II: $10,510.04
  • Sessional Lecturer II - Long Term: $10,760.28
  • Sessional Lecturer III: $10,760.28
  • Sessional Lecturer III - Long Term: $11,030.36

Work Mode

This position operates on a hybrid work model.

Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12 of the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 collective agreement.
