About the Role
Own end-to-end solution design for impactful system changes, guiding configuration, integration, and release while ensuring alignment with engineering best practices and business needs.
Responsibilities
- Architect and implement scalable Workday solutions that follow platform standards and support unique operational workflows
- Lead full lifecycle design for major system enhancements—from concept exploration to edge case validation and deployment oversight
- Work closely with Product Owners, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure technical designs meet business requirements
- Provide hands-on configuration support for complex setups and help maintain high design consistency across implementations
- Partner with the broader platform team to strengthen engineering practices and release reliability
- Influence the future of the Workday platform by shaping design standards, identifying technical risks, and driving simplification

The Business Platform manages systems for finance, people, and legal operations. The Workday Platform Team leads technical architecture, integrations, and release controls. Workday currently supports core HR functions like HCM and absence management, with upcoming payroll integration and potential expansion into compensation. The team ensures the platform scales securely, compliantly, and seamlessly as the organization grows.

- The Business Platform Group owns the systems that power Canva’s business operations. This includes our finance, people and legal systems, and the foundational platforms that connect them.
- The Workday Platform Team plays a critical role in enabling Canva’s business operations - owning the technical architecture, integrations, release management, and controls for the Workday platform.
- Today, Workday supports core People processes at Canva, including HCM, absence, and (soon) payroll - with future plans to potentially expand into areas like advanced compensation.
- The team’s mission is to ensure Workday can scale effectively and reliably - enabling secure, compliant, and well-integrated systems as Canva continues to grow.
