Responsibilities
- Work closely with program management and interdisciplinary teams to define requirements, recommend enhancements, and develop clean, efficient solutions.
- Support architectural decisions by aligning business needs with development costs, guide UI/UX choices for lean MVPs, and either implement the final system or provide clear direction for junior developers to execute.
- Convert detailed Figma designs and user flows into responsive front-end components using Laravel Livewire along with modern HTML and CSS.
- Develop reliable RESTful APIs in PHP with Laravel and Eloquent ORM, and create optimized MySQL database structures and queries.
- Continuously monitor application performance, refine database efficiency, write comprehensive unit tests, and maintain well-documented code using doc blocks.
- Take end-to-end ownership of feature delivery from GitHub issue to live deployment, participate in peer code reviews, and guide junior developers in engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Over 10 years of full stack web development experience with PHP, primarily using Laravel, and preferably with Laravel Livewire.
- Extensive knowledge of responsive HTML/CSS and ensuring consistent behavior across browsers.
- Proven track record designing, optimizing, and managing MySQL databases with advanced query writing.
- Solid grasp of RESTful API principles, including versioning and security practices.
- Practical experience deploying and scaling Laravel applications on AWS services such as EC2, S3, and RDS.
- Proficient with Git for version control and team collaboration.
- Minimal history of revert commits, indicating stable and thoughtful development practices.
- Consistently asks clarifying questions and suggests improved technical approaches.
- Demonstrated ability to independently deliver production features and mentor other developers.
Nice to Have
- Experience in video hosting or streaming technologies, including HTML5 Video, Video.js, or HLS.
- Familiarity integrating CMS content, such as WordPress, into Laravel pages using iframes.
- Background in building reusable Laravel packages and modular components for maintainable, scalable systems.
- Proven experience designing and delivering full-stack features at scale, including complex logic and performance tuning.
