This role is for an experienced engineering professional who will lead technical strategy and value-driven design improvements in a collaborative, cross-functional environment. As a key contributor in both design and Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) processes, you will guide product development from concept through manufacturing release, ensuring technical excellence and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering teams in resolving complex technical challenges and maintaining project timelines
- Communicate design solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Act as a subject matter expert in electrical engineering, supporting design optimization and innovation
- Collaborate with project managers and design leads during quoting and planning phases
- Develop and deliver complete design packages for entry into product data management systems
- Prepare and present detailed VAVE proposals including models, simulations, schematics, and updated BOMs
- Support design verification, supply chain coordination, and transition to manufacturing
- Mentor junior engineers, technicians, and ECAD designers
- Provide on-site engineering support during prototyping, NPI, and production phases
- Stay current with emerging technologies and methodologies to enhance design competitiveness
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field is required. Candidates must have at least six years of experience in electrical engineering within manufacturing or product design. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Preferred qualifications include Lean Six Sigma certification and prior customer-facing experience.
Technical Expertise
- Familiarity with multiple CAD platforms
- Experience with PDM systems and BOM management
- Proficiency in design verification, schematics, and simulation tools
- Background in VAVE methodologies and cross-functional design integration
Work Environment
This position operates in a hybrid model with options for remote work within the U.S. or on-site presence in St. Petersburg, Florida, or Guadalajara, Mexico.
