Responsibilities
- Lead engineering efforts including mentoring, code reviews, task planning, technology evaluation, system architecture, and process optimization across diverse project scopes
- Collaborate with Principal Investigators to clarify, prioritize, and manage technical requirements using GitLab for tracking
- Manage all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements to deployment, while guiding junior engineers in best practices
- Design scalable and resilient software systems aligned with client and program needs
- Establish and maintain strong collaborative relationships with clients and external partners
- Create responsive front-end applications using technologies such as JavaScript, Unity, or equivalent frameworks
- Guide technical aspects of research and development proposal submissions
Requirements
- Hybrid work requirement with 60% onsite presence in Cambridge, Massachusetts
- U.S. Citizenship is mandatory
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 7 years of professional software development experience, preferably spanning the full development lifecycle
- Willingness to travel occasionally for customer engagements and integration or testing activities
- Experience leading or participating in test and evaluation initiatives
- Knowledge of DevSecOps principles applied throughout development
- Experience collaborating within multi-organization teams on large integration projects
