Responsibilities
- Develop, calibrate, and validate trip-based and activity-based travel demand models with direct involvement in modeling tasks
- Execute updates, improvements, and ongoing maintenance of travel demand forecasting models
- Apply and enhance mode choice modeling techniques using advanced discrete choice methodologies
- Utilize and refine dynamic traffic assignment and multimodal transportation modeling strategies
- Create or enhance model components, tools, or plugins using C++ or other high-performance programming languages
- Identify and fix modeling logic and software code problems to ensure reliable and repeatable results
- Facilitate interoperability between modeling systems, scripting platforms, and core software modules
- Lead technical conversations with clients while continuing to perform hands-on analysis
- Guide junior staff through code evaluations, modeling best practices, and joint troubleshooting
- Advance automation processes, system performance, and analytical workflows
- Assist in preparing technical proposals and shaping methodological approaches for new projects
