In this role, you'll be responsible for defining test strategies, building scalable automation frameworks, and ensuring robust performance across firmware, APIs, and connected devices used in access control environments.
What You’ll Do
- Design and implement comprehensive QA strategies for firmware, embedded systems, and RESTful or CoAP-based APIs.
- Develop, extend, and maintain automated test suites for UI, backend services, and low-level device communication.
- Integrate testing solutions into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery and rapid feedback loops.
- Lead end-to-end testing processes including planning, regression cycles, defect tracking, and root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to promote testing best practices such as test-driven development and risk-based testing.
- Use tools like Wireshark, Postman, and curl to diagnose network and protocol-level issues across TCP/IP, HTTPS, RS-232, and RS-485 interfaces.
- Advocate for process improvements that enhance test coverage, reliability, and security of product features.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years in software or firmware quality assurance, with at least 3 years focused on test automation.
- Hands-on coding experience in C and C++ for testing or development purposes.
- Proven experience building automated frameworks for APIs, UI, and embedded systems.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and the Constrained Application Protocol (CoAP).
- Solid understanding of networking concepts including TCP, UDP, HTTPS, and serial protocols like RS-232 and RS-485.
- Experience using JIRA and TestRail in Agile environments.
- Degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to Have
- Background in access control systems or physical security technologies.
- Knowledge of SSL/TLS certificates and secure communication protocols.
