About the Role
The Technical Program Manager owns high-impact, multi-team engineering initiatives and is accountable for their success. You will define direction, align teams, manage interdependencies, and contribute technically to solutions—while creating systems and tools that improve execution across the engineering organization. This is a foundational position that establishes repeatable practices for cross-team delivery and shapes the future of the function. Success is measured by organizational outcomes, not process metrics.
Responsibilities
- Lead multi-team initiatives with ownership over outcomes, defining strategic direction, clarifying responsibilities, and supporting leadership in evaluating tradeoffs.
- Collaborate with engineering leaders to shape system architecture, define interfaces and integration approaches, and break down complex challenges into actionable, efficient workstreams.
- Coordinate execution across engineering groups, ensuring dependencies are mapped, prioritized, and actively managed.
- Develop scalable tools and systems for risk identification, dependency tracking, and program health monitoring, then partner with program management to deploy them across engineering and the AI-powered software development lifecycle.
- Enhance delivery predictability by aligning roadmaps, execution plans, and performance metrics to provide transparent progress tracking, risk visibility, and milestone reporting.
- Proactively identify risks by recognizing recurring failure modes, guiding teams away from past issues, and resolving cross-functional obstacles early.
- Lead structural and architectural improvements that allow teams to operate independently while delivering unified customer solutions.
- Engage executives by clearly communicating technical decisions and tradeoffs, aligning stakeholders with competing priorities around shared goals.
- Shape technology investment strategies by advocating for key initiatives, securing cross-team commitments, and ensuring critical programs are properly resourced.
