Responsibilities
- Drive expansion and capability building of the structural engineering division in Manchester.
- Guide junior team members and manage diverse project workloads from initial concept through to final delivery.
- Deliver early-stage engineering and design consulting services, including coordination with international clients.
- Demonstrate leadership through practical application of value engineering and advanced computational tools.
- Collaborate across disciplines and lead structural design teams to produce robust, code-compliant solutions aligned with global standards.
- Ensure rigorous quality control in all deliverables prior to issuance.
- Clarify project scope and requirements, then assign and oversee team execution within set timelines.
- Apply advanced technical knowledge in structural engineering to optimize planning and design outcomes.
- Support and understand Integrated Project Delivery methods and tools such as BIM.
- Identify and manage all project-related quality and environmental considerations to ensure smooth execution.
- Take ownership of structural calculation preparation and verification.
- Conduct structural analysis and design using both digital modeling and manual computation techniques.
- Participate in peer reviews of engineering analyses produced by team members.
- Support project management efforts to meet client deadlines and budget constraints.
- Design structures in compliance with current British Standards and Eurocodes.
- Pursue continuous learning and consider broader engineering implications of project work.
- Lead structural design efforts on MOD and defense-sector projects, supervising engineers, graduates, and technical staff as needed.
