What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with product, operations, and autonomy teams to deliver capabilities that enhance the safety, speed, and scalability of self-driving vehicle deployment.
- Architect and deploy cloud-native services that support both real-time and batch data processing, enabling smarter fleet decisions and continuous system improvement.
- Build highly available, low-latency APIs and data pipelines using modern distributed systems practices, ensuring reliability across diverse operational environments.
- Lead the design of end-to-end systems in partnership with software, hardware, and infrastructure teams, ensuring alignment across technical domains.
- Guide and develop senior engineers through technical mentorship, code reviews, and architectural discussions, raising the overall engineering standard.
- Transform complex operational and autonomy data into intuitive tools and APIs that empower operators and improve system efficiency.
What We’re Looking For
- Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- 8+ years of software development experience with a focus on large-scale backend systems.
- Proven background in cloud services, distributed systems, and scalable API design.
- Strong working knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes, Elasticache, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring solutions.
- Production experience building gRPC services in Golang.
- Leadership experience shaping technical strategy, mentoring engineers, and driving cross-team initiatives.
- Exceptional communication skills—able to write clear technical specs, give constructive feedback, and explain complex ideas simply.
- A proactive mindset: you identify gaps, take initiative, and balance speed with long-term maintainability.
Preferred Background
- Work on safety-critical or mission-critical systems.
- Onboard software development for robotics or autonomous vehicles using C++.
- Experience with optimization algorithms or operations research.
- Background in transportation, logistics, or time-sensitive operations.
- Building fleet management platforms for robots, drones, or vehicles.
- Delivering customer-facing software in production environments with real-world users.
