Responsibilities
- Shape and lead the long-term technical direction for the storage engine by analyzing advancements like CXL and NVMe-oF and incorporating them into a strategic roadmap.
- Apply deep expertise in system-level programming with C, C++, Go, or Rust to develop core components of a next-generation storage architecture.
- Design and deploy solutions using standard storage protocols including NFS, SMB, iSCSI, and NVMe/TCP.
- Maintain active contributions to open-source storage projects such as Ceph, GlusterFS, Lustre, Spectrum Scale, or OpenEBS.
- Serve as the final authority on major architectural decisions within the Foundations team, guiding cross-domain design reviews spanning storage, networking, and virtualization.
- Lead specialized engineering teams to resolve complex system-wide performance issues, from kernel-level I/O overhead to distributed system tail latency.
- Collaborate with executive leadership and product teams to ensure technical capabilities support key business goals, including preparation for an IPO.
