Responsibilities

  • Own the technical delivery of mission critical, event based payment systems handling millions of daily transactions; You are responsible for the expansion and blast radius of architectural decisions across the organization.
  • Define “what good looks like” by establishing modern standards of AI-enabled workflows, high-availability and resilient deployments, metric driven stewardship(SLOs) required for global scale payments systems reliability.
  • Navigate from POC and experimentation to production via the path of least resistance exploring multiple solutions, recommending the most effective paths with bold bets and clear, iterative line of sight. You balance the rapid business value with long term system health.
  • Shape engineering and product strategy jointly, not only as a bridge between cross functions but as a co-author of technical roadmaps, a guardian of technical backlogs and a driving force behind engineering standards and cross team prioritization.
  • Level up the organization by coaching and mentoring the engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Drive engineering velocity by owning platforms, shared frameworks and automated guardrails that become building blocks to reduce complexity at the edges while compounding productivity.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience as a staff engineer, with a proven track record of operational through large scale incidents and system failures, emerging with stronger architectures, sharper runbooks and lasting institutional knowledge.
  • Deep proficiency in at least one relevant tech stack combined with systems level mindset for complex full stack architectures.
  • Hands on experience with AI-assisted coding and deployment strategies to drive efficiency without sacrificing quality.
  • The ability to simplify complex technical tradeoffs for stakeholders and peers. You proactively identify and communicate associated risks, holding a firm but flexible point of view to navigate them with a data driven approach.

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience at a fintech or tech company, specifically having worked in places that require deep intuition for data integrity and building of automated reconciliation systems that are auditable by design
