San Francisco, Canada Hybrid Employment

Effective AI is hiring a Senior/Staff Product Manager

Responsibilities

  • Design and run demos that win deals. Understand the customer's workflows and evaluation criteria. Build tailored demos, not feature tours. Write briefs specific enough that engineers can start building tomorrow.
  • Embed with customers post-sale. Learn their processes, understand their vendor landscape, and translate what you learn into what the product should build next. Configure and customize the platform for each customer while the product itself levels up.
  • Own the hard product requirements. Auth, RBAC, approval workflows, data governance. Too nuanced for a domain specialist alone, too customer-facing for an engineer alone. You bridge that gap.
  • Design for expert users, not engineers. Our users are domain experts who think in regulatory filings, rate structures, and competitive positioning. You'll take what our engineers build and make it consumable for actuaries, underwriters, and product leaders. Getting this right is how the future of complex work gets defined.
  • Hold multiple enterprise engagements at once. Different timelines, different stakeholders, different technical complexity. Nothing drops.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management in enterprise software with heavy per-customer customization.
  • Hands-on with AI coding tools today. You're actively using Cursor, Copilot, Claude, or similar to prototype and build. This is how you work, not something you're planning to start.
  • Deep enterprise customer-facing experience. You've run demos for technical buyers, managed post-sale relationships, and made products work in messy customer environments.
  • Strong technical depth. You reason about auth, APIs, data pipelines, and system architecture. When you brief an engineer, they can build from it.
  • High agency, fast ramp. You don't wait for a playbook. You've absorbed a complex domain quickly before and customers trusted you within weeks.

Nice to Have

  • DevOps, security, infrastructure, or data analytics background ideal.

About company
Effective AI
We're building AI agents to do real analytical work alongside domain experts, starting with insurance. Insurance pricing and product teams operate in one of the most data-rich, regulation-heavy environments in the economy, and their core analytical workflows are still almost entirely manual. We’re building agents that change that: systems that reason over millions of regulatory filings, coordinate across parallel workflows, and produce analysis that actuaries and product teams actually trust and use.
