SEAKR Engineering is hiring a Senior Space Electronics Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Define and verify system architectures for avionics, payload electronics, power distribution, and environmental controls, including block diagrams, specifications, and test strategies.
  • Select and qualify electronic components, choosing between commercial off-the-shelf and radiation-hardened parts based on mission requirements.
  • Manage the development and manufacturing of hardware from prototype through production, ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Develop and carry out comprehensive system tests including electrical, functional, EMI/EMC, thermal, and mechanical stress, then analyze results and document findings.
  • Lead integration of electronic systems by defining and maintaining interface control documents and resolving cross-team interface conflicts.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation such as design specs, test plans, and operational guides, while building a reusable knowledge repository.
  • Translate customer mission goals into technical requirements and effectively communicate solutions during reviews and product delivery events.
  • Guide junior engineers, lead design reviews, and promote effective collaboration across engineering disciplines.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical field
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in systems or electronics engineering for aerospace or defense applications
  • Proven experience with spaceflight hardware development lifecycle
  • Strong understanding of radiation effects on electronics and mitigation techniques
  • Experience with system-level testing in thermal-vacuum, vibration, and EMI/EMC environments
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD and NASA standards for space systems
  • Active security clearance or ability to obtain one

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or Physics
  • Experience with FPGA-based systems and high-speed digital design
  • Knowledge of power system modeling and analysis tools
  • Experience leading systems engineering teams on complex hardware programs
  • Working knowledge of configuration and data management systems
