Responsibilities
- Design and troubleshoot cloud networking architectures for customers integrating Confluent in hybrid or multi-cloud environments
- Advise on networking patterns, including Private networking, firewalling, NAT, DNS, routing, and identity-aware access
- Support test and production deployments with a focus on Confluent Cloud network integration
- Collaborate with sales teams in discovery sessions, architecture reviews, and technical deep-dives
- Help explain Confluent’s networking model in the context of enterprise security and compliance requirements
- Share best practices through demos, talks, and internal enablement
- Work closely with internal engineering and product teams to represent customer needs
Requirements
- 8-10+ years in a technical customer-facing role such as Solutions Engineering, Cloud Architect, or Network Engineer
- Strong expertise in Cloud networking (Azure or GCP preferred)
- Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts such as hybrid and multi-cloud architecture, BGP routing, firewalling, DNS, private connectivity, and VPNs
- Experience supporting enterprise customers with complex networking needs and hybrid environments
- Knowledge of on-prem to cloud and cloud-to-cloud networking patterns
- Strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical networking details into clear, customer-friendly solutions
- A collaborative mindset and eagerness to solve tough technical challenges
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Confluent Platform, Apache Kafka, or similar data streaming platforms is a plus
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform) and Kubernetes is a bonus
About the Role
We’re looking for a Solutions Engineer with a specialization in cloud networking to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex connectivity challenges, especially in hybrid and multi-cloud environments. As a key technical advisor, you'll work closely with customers to design secure, reliable networking architectures that connect on-prem systems to cloud infrastructure (Azure or GCP preferred). You’ll help remove networking blockers and enable smooth deployments of Confluent’s data streaming platform.
