The Senior Solutions Architect plays a key technical and strategic role, working directly with partners and customers to design robust, scalable solutions on MongoDB’s platform. This position acts as a trusted advisor, helping organizations—from startups to large enterprises—leverage MongoDB’s capabilities effectively across diverse environments and use cases.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with consulting partners to develop reference architectures, design patterns, and AI-driven blueprints that maximize the value of MongoDB deployments
- Communicate the technical and business advantages of MongoDB solutions to both technical teams and executive stakeholders
- Support sales initiatives through discovery sessions, product demonstrations, proof-of-concept projects, sizing exercises, and technical documentation
- Bridge customer needs with product direction by gathering field insights and sharing them with Product Management
- Represent the organization at industry events and targeted marketing activities to generate demand
- Mentor pre-sales engineers and promote knowledge sharing across technical teams
- Build strong relationships with technical partners, aligning their goals with MongoDB’s ecosystem to drive joint success
- Develop strategies that respond to competitive pressures and evolving industry trends within partner networks
- Lead solution architecture planning and implementation within regional partner ecosystems
- Guide partners in adopting best practices through training, technical mentorship, and strategic alignment
Qualifications
Candidates should bring a strong foundation in enterprise software and distributed systems. The ideal profile includes:
- 8+ years in pre-sales engineering or solutions architecture roles
- Hands-on coding experience with languages such as Python, Node.js, Java, C#, or SQL
- Background in building or supporting scalable, highly available systems
- Minimum of 2 years in software development
- Proven ability to present complex ideas clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
- Fluency in English and Portuguese, both written and spoken
Preferred Skills
- Spanish language proficiency
- Experience deploying applications on major cloud platforms or selling database technologies
- Familiarity with data modeling and database programming
- Knowledge of modern data technologies including Spark, Kafka, serverless architectures, API management, and cloud storage/streaming services
- Holding a cloud provider or MongoDB certification
Work Environment
This is a hybrid role with flexibility to work remotely and travel as needed. The position requires regular engagement with partners and customers, both in person and virtually, with up to 50% travel expected.
Compensation & Benefits
The salary range for this position is $104,000 to $204,000 USD. In addition to base pay, the package includes equity, participation in the employee stock purchase program, and a comprehensive benefits suite.
