Maximus Health, Inc. is hiring a Senior Software Engineer - Fullstack (Ruby on Rails) to join our mission-driven telehealth company. You will contribute across the codebase to build our advanced telemedicine platform, with a focus on quality, reliability, and team collaboration.
What You'll Do
- Write and ship high-quality code across the codebase to complete entire features and changes.
- Invest in demonstrable quality and reliability via unit tests, automated integration tests, TDD, and refactoring.
- Keep data management and security in mind at all times to protect customer privacy.
- Identify software quality, performance, and operational issues, and work constructively with the team to address them.
- Define and improve internal engineering standards and processes.
- Generate ideas and assess options and tradeoffs for how they impact business growth and customer experience.
- Work across functional teams to translate business and product ideas into software designs and releases.
What We're Looking For
- 6+ years of experience in product software development, especially public consumer web applications.
- Front-end: React/Redux/ImmutableJS experience.
- Back-end: Ruby-on-Rails / Ruby experience, with GCP, AWS, Postgres.
- General experience in unit testing and integration testing.
- Past experience or interest in pair programming.
- Experience experimenting and using the latest AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.).
- A dedication to keeping things simple and pragmatic.
- An attitude of shared ownership of the system and frequent integration.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Relentlessly resourceful, proactive, and able to thrive with a high degree of autonomy.
- Passion for Men’s Health & Development and a personal dedication to health optimization.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with queue / background processing and 3rd party integrations.
- Familiarity with or interest in Event Sourcing and other immutability / functional-programming patterns.
- TDD experience.
- Product & Project Management skills and experience.
- Ruby experience is highly preferred.
