About the Role

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend systems that power loan processing and financial transactions
- Design scalable APIs and services to support real-time lending decisions
- Collaborate with product and compliance teams to ensure regulatory alignment
- Optimize system performance and reliability under high transaction volume
- Implement robust data validation and fraud detection mechanisms
- Own end-to-end development cycles from design to production deployment
- Contribute to architectural decisions for distributed systems
- Ensure data consistency and integrity across microservices
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with minimal downtime
- Write clean, testable code with comprehensive automated testing
- Participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions
- Support audit and compliance requirements for financial systems
- Integrate with third-party financial and identity verification services
- Monitor system health and respond to alerts proactively
- Drive improvements in observability and logging infrastructure
- Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices
- Evaluate new technologies for improving system capabilities
- Work in an agile environment with iterative delivery cycles
- Ensure security best practices across all layers of the stack
- Help define SLAs and SLOs for critical services
Nice to Have
- Experience in fintech, banking, or payments domains
- Prior work on credit decisioning or loan origination systems
- Knowledge of compliance standards such as SOX or GDPR
- Experience with event-driven architectures

- Experience mentoring engineers at different levels
