Level is hiring a Senior Software Engineer - Animation

Responsibilities

  • Build the systems that make characters move with personality, environments react with believability, and players connect emotionally with digital worlds
  • Own animation system architecture and runtime optimization
  • Own skeletal animation, blending, and state machines
  • Own physics-based animation and procedural systems
  • Own animation compression and streaming
  • Own tool integration for animation workflows

Requirements

  • 5+ years of real-time animation system development
  • Deep C++ experience
  • Experience with skeletal animation, inverse kinematics, and blending
  • Understanding of animation mathematics and interpolation algorithms
  • Performance optimization for animation-heavy scenes
  • Collaboration experience with animators and technical artists

Nice to Have

  • Godot animation system expertise
  • Motion capture integration experience
  • Procedural animation techniques
  • Physics simulation integration (ragdoll, cloth, etc.)
