Responsibilities
- Lead technical planning and execution for applications that embed data sync capabilities into frontline situational awareness tools, establishing best practices for engineering teams.
- Design and implement efficient Android apps and background services for use on tactical hardware, optimized for operation in disconnected or low-connectivity scenarios.
- Define and manage the full integration architecture between the core platform and the TAK ecosystem, including data models, API interfaces, and sync logic.
- Serve as a top-level technical resource for urgent field issues, resolving complex problems in live environments and creating tools to improve team-wide troubleshooting.
- Guide and support fellow engineers through code reviews, design feedback, and knowledge sharing to strengthen expertise in Android, ATAK/TAK, and system integration.
- Collaborate with product and engineering leaders to shape the strategic direction of edge integrations based on real-world operational insights.
