BusPatrol is hiring a Senior Software Development Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Lead the breakdown of legacy monolithic systems into scalable and modular microservices.
  • Design, write, and maintain high-quality, efficient, and thoroughly tested code across backend (Python, Ruby) and frontend (React/Angular) technologies.
  • Develop and enhance secure, high-throughput APIs that support real-time data processing and customer-facing platforms.
  • Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, and Data Engineering teams to deliver complete, business-aligned solutions.
  • Participate in key architectural decisions to enhance system performance, observability, security, and long-term maintainability.
  • Promote and follow engineering excellence through practices such as continuous integration and deployment, test-driven development, pair programming, and code reviews.
  • Own projects from initial concept through to deployment, emphasizing execution speed and continuous iteration.
  • Actively contribute to platform direction by sharing innovative ideas and fostering a culture of learning.
  • Support and expand cloud-native infrastructure using AWS serverless components like Lambda, SQS, DynamoDB, and S3.
